Are you wondering, “What’s a
giclee print???”
The
short story It’s an archival, fine-art
quality print in which the same pigments that an artist would use to
create a painting are used in the printmaking process.
The
long story
The
French word “giclee” (zhee-klay) means a spray or a spurt of liquid.
The term “giclee print” connotes an elevation in printmaking technology.
Images are generated from high-resolution digital scans and printed with
archival quality inks onto archival quality substrates. The giclee
printing process provides better color accuracy than other means of
reproduction. Giclee prints are commonly found in museums, art
galleries, and photographic galleries. |
